5 Univention Management Console restrictions of the server services during the update. Any intermediate versions are also installed automat- ically. Clicking on Install available security updates installs all the available security updates for the current release. Package updates activates an update of the package sources currently entered. This can be used, for example, if an updated version is provided for a component. The following configuration changes can be made in the Settings tab. Figure 5.12: Online update: repository settings The Repository server and, if applicable, a Repository prefix can be specified in Release settings. In addition, one can configure which repository options should be used: Use maintained repositories This is activated in the preset values and integrates the standard package repository. Use unmaintained repositories Further software for UCS releases can be found in the unmaintained repositories, which can be integrated with this option. As standard this is not activated. Use hotfix repositories This option can be activated in order to be able to use the Univention hotfixes. Further details can be found in Section 11.2.1. An overview of software components which expand the scope of function of Univention Corporate Server can be found under Component settings. The Add a new component button allows a new software component to be installed. Name identifies the component on the download server. A free text can be entered under Description, for example, for describing the functions of the component in more detail. The host name of the download server is to be entered in the input field Server name, and, if necessary, an additional file path in Prefix. A Username and 166

A software component is only available in the Package management after it has been Enabled. All these settings can be subsequently made for components which are already configured, by clicking the Configure button in the list. The Version specifies for which UCS versions a component should be installed. If the field is left blank, the component is integrated for all currently installed minor releases, e.g., for an installation with UCS 2.3 for UCS 2.0 to 2.3. Similarly, if current is entered in this field, all minor releases for this components are enabled, with the additional verification, however, that an update to a new minor release can only occur if the component for this minor release is also available. As with the standard repositories, components are differentiated between maintained and unmaintained components. 5.4 Wizards Univention Management Console offers several wizards for performing standard procedures during the implementation of services. These wizards combine the basic settings of individual UCS components, and can be of particular help in during the initial implementation. 5.4.1 Basis The Basis wizard has the purpose of performing basic settings of the UCS system; these include the following values: • Host name 167
