Selection Criteria: All Accountable Property Officers,<br />

Custodial Officers, and personnel who handle and/<br />

or manage Agency property who have not previously<br />

attended the LIMS III course. Attendance selections<br />

will be based on meeting the Agency’s accountable<br />

property mission.<br />

External affairs Overview field course<br />

(E/l731)<br />

This course is designed to provide an overview of<br />

the External Affairs concept, enhancing participants’<br />

knowledge and appreciation of the critical function<br />

each External Affairs component plays in delivering<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation and messages to FEMA’s core audiences.<br />

Through in<strong>for</strong>mational units on organizational<br />

structure, workshops on specific job functions,<br />

and exercises and case studies based on actual<br />

disaster scenarios, participants will gain a practical<br />

understanding of FEMA’s new approach to public<br />

disaster communications—identified as one of the<br />

Agency’s core competencies.<br />

This course provides participants with the necessary<br />

database skills to effectively complete required<br />

property accountability transactions using the LIMS<br />

Mobile system.<br />

Course Length: 1 day<br />

planning section chief (E734)<br />

The overall purpose of this course is to prepare<br />

participants to serve as a Planning Section Chief in a<br />

Type 2 disaster.<br />

The course consists of 6 days of scenario-based<br />

discussions, activities, and assignments following<br />

brief overview presentations of the concepts,<br />

principles, and practices of the various topics. The<br />

course will include a pre-test, post-test, and capstone<br />

exercise to assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the<br />

course and prerequisite materials. All participants<br />

will receive course credit <strong>for</strong> attending, but there<br />

are pass and fail measures which may require the<br />

participant to attend the course a second time to<br />

receive credentialing credit.<br />

Selection Criteria: This course is designed <strong>for</strong> JFO<br />

Planning Section Chiefs; however, the course will be<br />

open <strong>for</strong> Federal Coordinating Officers and RRCC/<br />

NRCC Planning Section Chiefs. Course participants<br />

must have the ADD Title of Planning Section Chief<br />

Trainee, Deputy, or Section Chief.<br />
