general Directions to center<br />

<strong>for</strong> Domestic preparedness/<br />

noble training facility<br />

FEMA’s Center <strong>for</strong> Domestic Preparedness (CDP)/<br />

The Noble Training Facility (NTF) is approximately<br />

90 miles west of Atlanta, Georgia, and 60 miles east<br />

of Birmingham, Alabama. If traveling from the east,<br />

west, or south, the best access is Interstate 20 to Exit<br />

185 in Ox<strong>for</strong>d, then north on Alabama Highway 21<br />

<strong>for</strong> approximately 7 miles. From the north, take I-59<br />

to U.S. 431 South to Alabama Highway 21. Turn left<br />

on Highway 21 North and travel approximately 3<br />

miles.The entrance is Baltzell Gate-Fort McClellan.<br />

from birmingham airport:<br />

1. From the Birmingham Airport, take I-20 East<br />

from Birmingham.<br />

2. Take I-20 East to exit 185 OXFORD-ANNISTON<br />

(Ala 21) (about 60 miles).<br />

3. Upon exiting, you will be in Ox<strong>for</strong>d, Alabama.<br />

Continue north on Ala 21 into Anniston. Proceed<br />

through Anniston to Fort McClellan.<br />

4. After driving on Ala 21 <strong>for</strong> about 8 miles, you<br />

will see the Fort fence on your right. You will pass<br />

two closed gates. You will come to a signalized<br />

intersection (EXXON station on left). Proceed<br />

through this intersection and KEEP RIGHT.<br />

5. Turn right onto Baltzell Gate Road. Follow Baltzell<br />

and parallel the golf course. You will pass the<br />

clubhouse on your left.<br />

6. At the intersection (TEE), turn left onto FEDERAL<br />

WAY and proceed up the hill. Watch <strong>for</strong> the blue<br />

and white signs <strong>for</strong> FEMA/Noble Training Facility<br />

which will be on your right on CARE DRIVE.<br />

Park in northeast lot. Go to glass door (under<br />

FEMA sign).<br />

Watch <strong>for</strong> the blue and white signs marking the route to NTF on<br />

Baltzell Gate Road.<br />

from atlanta airport:<br />

1. At your car rental agency, ask <strong>for</strong> directions from<br />

the airport to CAMP CREEK PARKWAY.<br />

2. Take CAMP CREEK PARKWAY to I-20 West (about<br />

13 miles).<br />

3. Take I-20 West to exit 185 OXFORD-ANNISTON<br />

(Ala 21) about 75 miles.<br />

4. Upon exiting you will be in Ox<strong>for</strong>d, Alabama.<br />

Continue north on Ala 21 into Anniston. Proceed<br />

through Anniston to Fort McClellan.<br />

5. After driving on Ala 21 <strong>for</strong> about 8 miles, you<br />
