FEMA’s Coastal Construction Manual. This manual is the<br />

primary, state-of-the-art reference <strong>for</strong> planning,<br />

designing, and constructing residential structures in<br />

the various coastal environments.<br />

Selection Criteria: The target audience is engineers,<br />

architects, and building code officials. Floodplain<br />

management, hazard mitigation, planning, and<br />

building officials with building science knowledge<br />

may also apply.<br />

This workshop provides college and university<br />

executive officials an introduction to emergency<br />

management and a basic overview of FEMA’s Higher<br />

Education Program. It also provides an opportunity<br />

<strong>for</strong> college officials to network with representatives of<br />

<strong>Emergency</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Professional organizations<br />

and other leading professionals in the field.<br />

Selection Criteria: Presidents or their provosts, Chancellors,<br />

and senior deans of Historically Black Colleges and<br />

Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions<br />

(HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and<br />

other minority institutions of higher learning.<br />
