specific: resources unit leader<br />

(rEsl) course (E965)<br />

This course provides an overview of Unit Leader<br />

responsibilities, the Planning Section, and the<br />

planning process to contextualize the Resources<br />

Unit <strong>for</strong> participants unfamiliar with the planning<br />

process or the Incident Command System (ICS).<br />

It then explores specific Resources Unit Leader<br />

(RESL) functions and responsibilities including<br />

resource tracking systems, operational planning,<br />

and resource products/outputs. The Status/Check-in<br />

and Demobilization functions are covered to<br />

provide participants with the knowledge to per<strong>for</strong>m<br />

those duties if necessary. Exercises/simulations,<br />

discussions, and a final exam enable participants to<br />

process and apply their new knowledge.<br />

Selection Criteria: NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position-<br />

Specific training should be completed by personnel<br />

who are regularly assigned to functional, support,<br />

or unit leader positions on United States Fire<br />

Administration (USFA) or other Type III All-Hazards<br />

Incident <strong>Management</strong> Team (AHIMT), or by those<br />

persons who desire to seek credentials/certification<br />

in those positions.<br />

Prerequisites:<br />

Required: G300, Intermediate Incident Command System<br />

(ICS) <strong>for</strong> Expanding Incidents, ICS-300; IS 100.a, Introduction<br />

to the Incident Command System (ICS), ICS-100; IS 200.a,<br />

Incident Command System (ICS) <strong>for</strong> Single Resources and Initial<br />

Action Incidents, ICS-200; and IS 700.a, National Incident<br />

<strong>Management</strong> System (NIMS), An Introduction.<br />

Recommended: G400, Advanced Incident Command System<br />

(ICS), Command and General Staff—Complex Incidents,<br />

ICS-400.<br />

specific: logistics section chief<br />

(lsc) course (E967)<br />

This course is designed to provide local and State-level<br />

emergency responders with a robust understanding<br />

of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an<br />

effective Logistics Section Chief (LSC) on an All-<br />

Hazards Incident <strong>Management</strong> Team (AHIMT).<br />

These responsibilities fall into two categories:<br />

1) responding to the incident, and 2) effectively<br />

fulfilling the position responsibilities of a Logistics<br />

Section Chief on an AHIMT. Exercises, simulations,<br />

discussions, and a final exam enable participants to<br />

process and apply their new knowledge.<br />

Selection Criteria: NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position-<br />

Specific training should be completed by personnel<br />
