Introduction to the Incident command<br />
system, Ics-100, <strong>for</strong> schools (Is 100.sca)<br />
This course introduces the ICS and provides the<br />
foundation <strong>for</strong> higher-level ICS training. This course is a<br />
comprehensive introduction to ICS tailored <strong>for</strong> school<br />
situations. Case studies, scenarios, and video clips of<br />
people and places that have been involved in school<br />
emergency planning are integrated into the course.<br />

Deployment basics: federal Disaster<br />
work<strong>for</strong>ce readiness (Is 101)<br />
This course is designed to help prepare FEMA<br />
personnel <strong>for</strong> deployment to a domestic incident.<br />
Responding to incidents requires that we must be<br />
ready, willing, and able to deploy at a moment’s notice.<br />
This course provides personnel with practical tips and<br />
advice <strong>for</strong> incident deployment as well as a summary<br />
background of the NRF, NIMS, and the Staf<strong>for</strong>d Act.<br />
Note: This course is only accessible through the FEMA<br />
Employee Knowledge Center or the Disaster Reserve<br />
Work<strong>for</strong>ce Division (DRWD) portal. It is not available<br />
on the Independent Study web site.<br />

This course gives FEMA employees awareness of how<br />
to recognize the warning signs of potential violence<br />
in the workplace and what actions to take to prevent<br />
or minimize violence. Upon completing this course,<br />
the participant will be able to describe how to:<br />
• Define Workplace Violence in accordance with<br />
the FEMA 1200.1 policy and the DHS memo<br />
referenced in the course.<br />
• List the four types of Workplace Violence.<br />
• Identify the three warning sign levels related to<br />
potential Workplace Violence.<br />
• List the action steps taken in response to<br />
Workplace Violence.<br />
• Identify ways to prevent Workplace Violence.<br />

Fulfilling FEMA’s mission requires that FEMA<br />
employees are ready to travel at a moment’s notice.<br />
Part of being prepared requires that FEMA employees<br />
gain an understanding of Federal travel rules and<br />
regulations. This course presents an overview of FEMA<br />
rules and regulations on employee travel, including<br />
eligible and non-eligible expenses. It is designed<br />
to prepare personnel with in<strong>for</strong>mation on FEMA<br />
Travel Rules and Regulations that are required to be<br />
followed when working <strong>for</strong> FEMA. These regulations<br />
help facilitate travel, ensure accountability, and meet<br />
the unique needs of the disaster work<strong>for</strong>ce while<br />
they serve our Nation. Upon completing this course,<br />
