goal of this module is to provide sufficient in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

to enable the animal care community and emergency<br />

management officials to meet and develop meaningful<br />

and effective plans that improve the care of animals in<br />

times of disaster. This course can be downloaded from<br />

the Independent Study web site and the test can be<br />

completed and submitted online.<br />

special Events contingency planning <strong>for</strong><br />

public safety agencies (Is 15.a)<br />

Almost every community is host at one time or<br />

another to a special event, whether it is a fair, parade,<br />

sporting event, or another type of mass gathering.<br />

This course is intended <strong>for</strong> representatives of the<br />

public safety team involved in development of the<br />

event contingency plan. The web-based course has<br />

numerous activities based on a series of planning<br />

aids. These planning aids include contingency plan<br />

considerations <strong>for</strong> law en<strong>for</strong>cement, fire, emergency<br />

medical, public health, public works, and emergency<br />

management. The test can be completed and<br />

submitted online at the Independent Study web site.<br />
