Karnataka<br />

PVS trials were conducted in Chitradurga, Tumkur, Chikballpur, Bagalkot <strong>and</strong> Raipur districts <strong>of</strong><br />

Karnataka. In the districts <strong>of</strong> Chitradurga, Tumkur, Chikballpur, 10 varieties were chosen <strong>and</strong> 117<br />

mother <strong>and</strong> baby trials were conducted in 2008 in eight villages (Table 2-4). Of these, five varieties<br />

were advanced for the following season PVS to conduct 144 trials in 12 villages (Table 2-5). ICGV<br />

91114 was identified as the farmer-preferred variety <strong>and</strong> paired comparisons were conducted in 33<br />

villages in 2010 (Table 2-6).<br />
