In such a manner was supremacy exercised
by this pretended minister of the God of peace ;
soielv because these Waldenses rejected his
headship, and testified against the prevalent
abominations of the Romish Church. This is
merely a specimen of the illustrat^ions which can
be produced on this point ; and without doubt,
much more would have been afforded us, did
we only enjoy all the records of antiquity. But
