priests to domineer. In his version, he translates<br />

ion kleron <strong>the</strong> clergy j or, as he far<strong>the</strong>r<br />

explains it in <strong>the</strong> same page,<br />

<strong>the</strong> inferior clergy.<br />

Formerly <strong>the</strong> church considered <strong>the</strong> proper<br />

meaning of this word to be,<br />
