him possessed of any supremacy. He merely<br />

classes him with James <strong>and</strong> John, who, he says,<br />

seemed to be pillars *.<br />

If <strong>the</strong> R. consider it as of any importance to<br />

his cause, it will be also granted, that Peter is<br />

called <strong>the</strong> chief <strong>and</strong> prince of <strong>the</strong> apostles <strong>by</strong><br />

some of <strong>the</strong> Fa<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

never intended, <strong>by</strong> <strong>the</strong>se titles,<br />

But it is evident that <strong>the</strong>y<br />

to ascribe to him<br />

Peter's supremacy from <strong>the</strong>se expressions<br />
