But, granting that an implicit submission is
due to the ministers of C hrist, I will shew the
R., in a very few words, that the Church of
Rome has no right to claim it. In iUustrating
this topic, he has the fjllowing observations :

words of this apostle The R.'s grand
design is
to detect the insidious artifices of innovators
and pretended reformers ; and he there
specifies the marks by which they may be known.
They are persons, this apostle says, who " fci-

bid to marry, and command to abstain from
*'
meats, which God has created to be received
*'
with thanksgiving of them who beheve and
" know the truth. For every creature of God
" is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be
" received with thanksgiving |." Let the R.,
