The R. will perceive, that many caudal appendages
must be docked from this prayer,

it can be reduced to the simple form of

Holy Virgin, pray for us.'*
If Popish tales be true, the Rom.ish Church
is under very strong obligations to pay all this
homage, and a great deal more, to the Virgin.
There is
scarcely any favour which she has withheld
from her devout worshippers.
She has delivered
them from sickness, restored their eyesight,
preserved them from dangers, saved them
from the gallows, and even raised them from
the dead ; and, what must peculiarly tend to
