Applications of Computer Control System in<br />

Automobile Comprehensive Performance Test<br />

Abstract—With the development of auto detection<br />

technology, applications of computer control system in<br />

automobile comprehensive performance test has developed<br />

into a new stage. Also the paper elaborates automobile<br />

comprehensive performance testing automatic control<br />

system's designing mentality, system composition, test<br />

process, and the characteristics of the system and function.<br />

Index Terms—Computer Control System, Detection of the<br />

I. INTRODUCTION<br />

Along with the development of modern transportation,<br />

car quantities is increase rapidly, traffic safety of vehicles,<br />

environmental protection, energy conservation and<br />

emission reduction has become a very serious problem.<br />

Automobile comprehensive performance testing is an<br />

important content of implementation of vehicle<br />

management for transportation departments at all levels.<br />

The current domestic examination of the automobile<br />

synthesize function is only based on manual inspection or<br />

half-automatic inspection. So how to realize the fullautomatic<br />

inspection of the automobile synthesize<br />

function, that is quite attentioned by the corporation and<br />

academy who are very paying attention to the<br />

development of automobile inspection equipments at<br />

percent. Making use of modern electronics technique,<br />

computer and its network correspondence techniques, to<br />

develop the completely automatic vehicles overall<br />

performance inspecting line has become one inevitable<br />

trend.<br />

II.<br />

SUMMARY OF SYSTEM<br />

Automobile comprehensive performance test line is the<br />

testing system as a comprehensive use of modern<br />

detection technology, electronic technology, computer<br />

technology for automobile implementation nondismantlement<br />

testing and diagnostic testing. It can<br />

diagnose and test all kinds of vehicle performance<br />

parameter indoors , and detect malfunction status<br />

providing reliable basis for the comprehensive and<br />

accurate evaluation of performance and technique of car's<br />

situation. Automobile comprehensive performance lines<br />

can undertake the test of vehicle performance, reliability<br />

and safety of economy, environmental management etc,<br />

and can undertake the test of vehicle maintenance quality<br />

inspection and heavy-duty truck technology condition,<br />

using the test evaluation on the lines of industrial PC and<br />

weighing, brake, speed and exhaust gas, lighting, sound<br />

level as combined testing equipment, then form digital<br />

signal by adjusting and gathering each station equipment's<br />

signal, and transmit to mainframe automatically for host<br />

store, and form a complete test report according to the test<br />

results, and can provide function of inquiring statistical<br />

data and analysis, so as to realize the automation<br />

management of motor vehicle safety testing and<br />

information sharing with superior departments and related<br />

business department[1].<br />

III.<br />

DESIGNING MENTALITY OF THE SYSTEM<br />

In order to succeed in the breakthrough of performance<br />

testing equipment assembly and online method,<br />

distributed computer test system will be applied in<br />

automobile comprehensive performance testing process.<br />

Then we will connect various testing equipments of<br />

respective operation modes and output data by computers,<br />

employing master computer and slave computer, to form a<br />

whole, then realize the concentrated automatic control and<br />

inspection the real-time data acquisition and processing,<br />

with the completion of each stage detection task rapidly,<br />

accurately and automatically[2].<br />

System testing lines includes one master computer and<br />

three slave computer and a zero station machine, each<br />

slave computer is responsible for testing one operating<br />

station, and each operating station has at least two testing<br />

points. The first operating station mainly detects speed,<br />

tail gas and chassis. The second operating station mainly<br />

inspects braking performance by the axle load<br />

measurement platform and brake testboard.The third one<br />

operating station mainly measures engine performance,<br />

side slip, lighting, sound level, chassis dynamometer and<br />

other items.<br />

System composition diagram is shown in graph 1.<br />

Process of system inspection: Input and transmission of<br />

vehicles' information can be carried on in zero operating<br />

station, then single and system can collect judging and<br />

print detection results.<br />

Master computer is command and control center of all<br />

lines, and it compile machine information transmitted<br />

from zero station machine to form command word, then<br />

notify slave computer, and simultaneously summarize,<br />

sort out, calculate observing data from slave computer.<br />
