Consul General Johannes Vervloed of the Kingdomof the Netherlands and his staff would like to express theirrespect and gratitude for the sacrifices Canadian veteransmade in the liberation of the Netherlands.It is important to pass the torch of remembrance to a newgeneration. This past year, The Netherlands was honouredto receive more than 2000 Canadian high school studentswho came to explore their heritage and to pay homage to theendless rows of headstones at the Canadian war cemeteriesin the Netherlands.
