It’s true and complicatesjob seeking when our men and women in uniform are making the transition frommilitary to civilian life.The Legion Military Skills Conversion Program is designed to help.The new Legion Military Skills Conversion Program with the British ColumbiaInstitute of Technology (BCIT) enables service personnel to plan a civilian careerpath using a three-pronged approach: academic, entrepreneurial andemployment. Participants receive academic accreditation for military service withfast tracked post-secondary education. Courses range from one month to fouryears depending upon the path chosen. For those wanting to start a business, theprogram supports the development of a professional business plan. And for thosewanting to enter the workforce immediately, the program offers workshops forprofessional resume development and assistance with job searches.
