British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Mummery, William OwenWilliam was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1918. He served in the Army inWorld War Two with the 1 st Medical Regiment Platoon, Royal CanadianArmy Service Corps, in Canada, England, Holland, Belgium, Italy, andFrance. William was a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #43 in Prince George fortwenty years. He died in 1965.Myhon, James StanleyStanley was born in Calgary in 1925. After his father died and his motherremarried, his family moved to Prince George, <strong>BC</strong>. He attended school inQuesnel and Moose Heights, <strong>BC</strong> before enlisting in the Army in 1943. Hewas sent to Normandy for the D-Day Invasion and was killed in action in1944 just before his nineteenth birthday near the village of In de Vijf Wegen,near Antwerp, Belgium. Stanley was buried in the Adegem Canadian WarCemetery, midway between Brugge and Ghent in Belgium. He was one offour brothers who served in World War Two.Nalewajek, Chester StanleyChester was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1931. He served with the RoyalCanadian Horse Artillery in Korea, Egypt, and, for two tours, in Germany.Chester retired with the rank of Warrant Officer after twenty-six years ofservice. He has been a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #288 in Westbank, <strong>BC</strong> forten years.www.legionbcyukon.ca211
