British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Morey, Thomas Henry (Tom)Tom was born in South Wales in 1915. He joined the Territorial Army priorto World War Two and in 1939, joined the 1 st Field Regiment, 4 th IndianDivision, British 8 th Army in Africa, Italy, and Greece during World WarTwo. While in Athens, Greece, Tom cooked Christmas Dinner for 1400children. He is the oldest member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #227 in OkanaganFalls, <strong>BC</strong>.Morrison, Allan M.Allan was born in 1929. He served with the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers(PCMR) in <strong>BC</strong> during World War Two. Members of the Rangers weretrained in tactical situations that included observation, especially watchingagainst a possible Japanese invasion, anti-sabotage measures, and protectionof lines of communication and transport. Allan was a member of PCMR #34Company Bralorne, Shalath, D’Arcy. He has been a member of <strong>Legion</strong>Branch #24 in Cranbrook for twenty-six years.Morrow, William Aubery (Bill)Bill was born in 1926 in Abbotsford, <strong>BC</strong>. He enlisted in the Royal CanadianArmed Forces and graduated as an air gunner after training with Flight 111, 2Squadron at Manning Depot in Toronto. He was posted to England where heflew on several bombing missions in Lancasters. He was in England on VJ Dayand demobilized in 1948. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer ServiceMedal, the Air Crew Europe Star, the 1939-1945 Star, the Defence Medal, andthe 1939-1945 War Medal. Bill soon joined the Merchant Marine and sailed toSouth Africa and Egypt. He returned to New Westminster, <strong>BC</strong> to studyengineering at <strong>BC</strong>IT then worked at Ocean Falls, <strong>BC</strong> and later at the CroftonPulp and Paper Mill on Vancouver Island where he worked for twenty-five yearsin various supervisory positions. In his spare time, Bill was a Scout Master andonce graduated five Queen’s Scouts in one year. He now lives in Duncan, <strong>BC</strong>where he is a longstanding member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #53 in Cowichan.www.legionbcyukon.ca207
