British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Thauvette, Gerald (Gerry)Gerry was born in Charlottenburg, Glengarry County, Ontario on June 15,1926. He enlisted in the Infantry in Ottawa on July 8, 1943 and went toCornwall, Ontario for basic training and then to Valcartier, Quebec foradvanced training. He was then sent to Fort Osborne, Manitoba where hevolunteered for the 1 st Canadian Parachute Regiment and went to CampShilo for airborne training. Gerry’s real age was discovered while he was inShilo and he was not permitted to go overseas. He later volunteered foroperations in the Pacific Theatre and trained at Camp Vernon on LakeOkanagan on assault boats. He was in Barriefield, Ontario when the Pacificwar ended and he took his discharge in 1946. Gerry has been a member ofBranch #167 in Lumby, <strong>BC</strong> for fifty-three years.Theriault, EileenEileen was born in Swansea, North Wales in 1923. She served in the RoyalCanadian Air Force in the Commonwealth Training Program during WorldWar Two. Eileen is a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #227 in Okanagan Falls,<strong>BC</strong>.Theriault, LucienLucien was born in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick in 1920. He served inthe Royal Canadian Air Force in the Commonwealth Training Program inWinnipeg, Manitoba during World War Two. Lucien has been a member of<strong>Legion</strong> Branch #227 in Okanagan Falls, <strong>BC</strong> for twelve years.www.legionbcyukon.ca275
