He wasconscripted in May 1950 and drafted into the Royal Air Force in May 1953.He was demobilized in May 1955 but served a further three years on call asa member of the Territorial Army. William is a member of Legion Branch#26 in Kelowna.Tenrerio, AntonioAntonio was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1935. He served with the rank ofCorporal with the Portuguese Army in Africa. Antonio has been a memberof Smoky Smith Legion Branch #16 in South Vancouver for fourteen years.Tetrault, Noel WilliamNoel was born in Calgary on December 24, 1925. When he was 10, he joined the AlbertaMilitary Institute Cadet Corps and at 15, served one year with the 2 nd BattalionEdmonton Fusiliers before enlisting in the Navy in December 1943 as a stoker. Aftertraining in HMCS Cornwallis, Noel was posted to St. John’s, NL and HMCS Middlesex.Demobilized in December 1945 at HMCS York, Toronto, he returned to Calgary. Heenlisted in the RCAF on January 20, 1950, serving with 412 Transport Squadron inRockcliffe and Ottawa then with Transport Command HQ at Lachine, QC for two yearsand in Trenton, ON. In August 1960, Noel was with the RCAF in the Congo under UNCommand. In 1962, he went to 1 Air Division HQ in Metz, France and was posted backto NDHQ in Ottawa between 1965 and 1969. He went to CFB Esquimalt in 1969 and toNanaimo Military Camp where CRA was attained in December 1975. He worked eightyears for the Nanaimo Post office before retiring in August 1983. Noel has been a Legionmember for forty years with Branch #256 Nanaimo.www.legionbcyukon.ca273
