British ColumBia / Yukon CommandLeRoy, Ronald Albert (Ron)Ron was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 8, 1925. He worked on farms andat other jobs until he joined the Army in 1942 at #12 Depot in Regina. He took advancetraining and a dispatch rider course at A11 Camp Borden, ON. Ron was shippedoverseas in September 1944, joined the 4 th Division, Lake Superior Regiment inBergen-op-Zoom, Holland and was in Oldenburg, Germany when the war ended. Ronthen enlisted for the Pacific War and returned to Saskatchewan for a month’s leave butthe Pacific War ended and he was discharged. Ron worked at farming, in the PostOffice, in a lumber yard, as an agent for the Federal Elevator Company, and as a fieldoperator with Mobil Oil in Alberta. He joined Legion Branch #44 in Whitecourt in1961 and transferred to Legion Branch #26 in Kelowna in 1989. He has served inmany Executive positions during his 21-year membership and is a Life Member. Ronwas awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, the CanadianVolunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the King George VI Silver Medal.Leslie, William H.William was born in Vancouver in 1922. He served with the SeaforthHighlanders in Canada, England, Italy, and Belgium during World War Two.He was one of many soldiers subjected to mustard gas experiments inAlberta. William was a member of Legion Branch #83, South Burnaby untilhe died in 2010.Lethbridge, Donald EdwardDonald was born in Sault St. Marie, Ontario in 1936. He joined the RoyalCanadian Regiment in London, Ontario and served in Canada and Germanyin Peacetime. Donald has been a member of Legion Branch #26 in Kelowna,BC for twenty years.www.legionbcyukon.ca171
