British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Macdonald, Bruce M.Bruce was born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1930. He served with thePrincess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Korea. Bruce was killed inaction during the Karyong Battle. He was posthumously awarded the KoreaMedal, the UN Korea Service Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer ServiceMedal for Korea.MacDonald, Donald S. (Don)Don was a high school teacher/principal when he joined the 26 th FieldArtillery in Portage, Manitoba in October 1952. The Regiment’s Colonelrecommended that Don take the newly introduced four year C.O.T.C. courseand continue teaching full-time. He did basic training at Shilo, Manitoba inthe summer and was on parade twice a week in Winnipeg for ten months.When Don completed his course, he was given the rank of SecondLieutenant. He has never been a full-time member of the Armed Forces.Don has been a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #88 in Maple Ridge for thirtyfiveyears.Macdonald, Frederic N. (Fred)Fred was born in Digby, Nova Scotia in 1932. He served with the RoyalCanadian Artillery in Korea. He received the Korea Volunteer Medal, theUN Korea Service Medal, and the Korea Medal. Fred has been a member of<strong>Legion</strong> Branch #91 in Langford, British Columbia for thirty years.www.legionbcyukon.ca181
