British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Paquette, Joyce W.Joyce was born in Montreal in 1923. She served in the Canadian Women’sArmy Corps during World War Two in Canada. She was awarded the 1939-1945 War Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Joyce has beena member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #4 in Chilliwack for five years.Parsons, Harry GordonHarry joined the Canadian Army in Cranbrook, <strong>BC</strong> in 1941. He was sent toCamrose, Alberta for basic training and then to Fort Benning, Georgia forparatroop training. His next assignment was to Blackpool, England wherehis unit did extensive training in demolitions. In 1943, they were sent toNorth Africa under Field Marshal Montgomery where their job was to workbehind the lines and blow up the Germans’ fuel bases. Harry washonourably discharged in 1947. He now resides in Cranbrook, <strong>BC</strong> where heis a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #24.Pearson, EvelynEvelyn enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in Vancouver, BritishColumbia in May 1944. She served in the Signals Division in HeadquartersPacific <strong>Command</strong> in Vancouver as a clerk and as secretary to army officers.She was discharged in June 1946 with the rank of Sergeant. Iris is a memberof <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #24 in Cranbrook, <strong>BC</strong>.www.legionbcyukon.ca221
