British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Pearson, TonyTony was born in Melville, Saskatchewan on March 8, 1925. He enlisted inthe Army on October 15, 1943 and took basic training in Orillia, Ontario.He served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment in World War Two andPeacetime until he was discharged in Winnipeg on February 1, 1947. Tonyenlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1949. He has been posted toCamp Borden, Ontario, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germanywhile serving more than thirty-six years with the Army and the RoyalCanadian Air Force. Tony has been a member of Seaview Centennial <strong>Legion</strong>Branch #257 for eighteen years.Pederson, M. R. (Pete)Pete was born in Creston, <strong>BC</strong> on December 28, 1937. He joined the Navy inNovember 1956 and served on eight ships in Special Duty Areas between 1957 and1969. He attended Royal Roads Military College in 1970 and was then posted toHMCS Provider from 1971 to 1976 and CFS Cold Lake from 1977 to 1980. Petetaught in various training establishments from 1980 to 1984 before becoming apartner in Nisku Medical Services, teaching and providing ambulance service andsecurity to Nisku Industrial Park. In 1988, he opened Pederson’s Essential Servicesand Emergency Services in Nisku, providing industrial ambulances, training, andfirst aid attendants to industrial sites. Between 1990 and 1999 when he retired, Petewas a safety consultant for Esso, Shell, and Nova. He bought a farm in ChristianValley but after he remarried, he moved to Okanagan Falls, <strong>BC</strong>. Pete has been a<strong>Legion</strong> member for forty-three years and is now a member of Branch #227 inOkanagan Falls. He now volunteers his time to Citizens on Patrol and with seniors.Peregrym, Gwendolen L. (Gwen)Gwen was born in Surrey, <strong>BC</strong> in 1962. She served in the Armed Forcesduring Peacetime at CFB Penhold, CFB Esquimalt, CFB Cold Lake, and onHMCS Annapolis on the high seas and in Haiti. She received the CanadianForces Decoration and the Special Service Medal (SSM) with Alert Barrepresenting her service at Canadian Forces Station Alert, Nunavut. Gwenhas been a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #55 in Port Alberni for two years.www.legionbcyukon.ca223
