British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Theriault, Robert G. (Bob)Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1930. His family moved to Creston,<strong>BC</strong> when he was young. Bob enlisted in the Navy in October 1948 at HMCSTecumseh and did new entry training at HMCS Naden, and communicationtraining at HMCS Stadacona. He served on HMCS Ontario, Cayuga,Antigonish, Crusader, Crescent, Digby, St. Laurent, and St. Croix. Heserved in Korea in 1950 and 1951 on HMCS Cayuga and in 1953 and 1954on HMCS Crusader. In 1952, Bob did a cruise around South America onHMCS Ontario and a world cruise on HMCS St. Laurent and HMCS St.Croix in 1964. He was released in November 1969 at HMCS Naden. Boblives in Victoria, <strong>BC</strong>, where he is a member of the Chief and Petty OfficersAssociation and Trafalgar/Pro Patria <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #292.Thomson, Robert Hunter (Bob)Bob was born in Scotland on March 19, 1919. His family immigrated to Canada and Bobjoined the Militia’s 1 st Battalion (Edmonton Regiment) in 1938 and in 1939, enlisted inthe Army at Drumheller, Alberta. Serving with the 8 th Field Ambulance RCAMC, he thentransferred as a gunner to the 1 st Anti-Tank Regiment and then to the 3 rd Field Regiment.Wounded in 1942, Bob re-mustered in 1943 as a Signalman, trained to parachute behindenemy lines. Bob served in Canada, the UK, the Central Mediterranean Area andContinental Europe until his discharge as a Lance Corporal on August 18 th , 1945. Hereceived the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the France and Germany Star, the DefenceMedal, the War Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Bobenlisted again in 1946 and in 1947 was posted to Baker Lake, NWT with the RoyalCanadian Signal Corps. He completed his term at Edmonton in 1948. In 1949, Bob reengagedat Kingston, ON and was posted to Rivers, MB. Bob was honourably releasedon June 23 rd , 1955. He was killed in a car accident near Kelowna, <strong>BC</strong> on May 16, 1959.Tilbert, Robert (Bob)Bob was born in Cambridge, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Army inRegina and did basic training in Orillia and his advanced training at CampBorden, Ontario. He was sent to England in March 1944 where his 2/14Calgary Tank Regiment received their Ram tanks which were replacedwithin a month by Shermans. He served in Belgium and Holland and waswith the Occupation Forces in Germany for eleven months. Bob returned toCanada in April 1946 and was discharged on June 4, 1946. He moved toLumby, <strong>BC</strong> because of his health and has been a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch#167 there for thirty years.www.legionbcyukon.ca277
