After basic training at CFB Cornwallis inNova Scotia, George was posted to CFB Esquimalt, BC as a Steward. Hetook his release after serving for five years. He has been a member ofLegion Branch #167 in Lumby for thirty-nine years.McKnight, EugeneEugene was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick in 1929. He served in theCarleton York Regiment in Canada during World War Two. Eugene has beena member of Powell River Legion Branch #164 for thirty years.McLane, Edward (Bud)Bud was born in Calgary, Alberta on November 18, 1920. He enlisted in theRoyal Canadian Army Service Corps in Grande Prairie in 1940. After basictraining in Calgary, he was posted to England and then to North Africa,Sicily, Italy, Northwest Europe and was in Holland by the end of the war.Bud was discharged in 1946. He was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, the ItalyStar, the Defence Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Hewas a member of Legion Branch #258 in Chetwynd and Branch #167 inLumby for fifty-three years. Bud died in December 2010.www.legionbcyukon.ca197
