British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>LeBlanc, AndreAndre joined the Canadian Forces on September 29, 1981 in Quebec City.He served with the rank of Corporal in the Military Police and as anairframe technician and aviation technician. Andre was stationed at CFBSummerside, with 5e Peloton de police militaire at Valcartier, Quebec, andwith 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron and 410 Squadron. He took part inExercise Brave Lion in Norway and was stationed at CFS Alert in Nunavut.Andre was discharged on December 3, 2002. He is a member of <strong>Legion</strong>Branch #24 in Cranbrook, <strong>BC</strong>.LeClair, Ray J. L.Ray joined the Irish Fusiliers Cadets when he was 12. He was with the Cadets inVancouver from 1948 to 1950, took general military instructor’s training in Vernonand was promoted to Cadet Lieutenant in late 1950. In 1952, the 25 th SpecialBrigade was being formed for service in Korea so Ray joined the Army on December10, 1953 hoping to serve with the Brigade but being too young, he was sent to theSchool of Artillery in Picton, ON. He took basic and early warning radar operatortraining with the 127AA Battery and was sent back to the west coast. He transferredto Winnipeg, MB to the 2 Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in 1953 and was sent toGermany with the Regiment. He took driver operator training and was made aforward artillery observer attached to “D” Company of the Royal 22e Regiment(VanDoos). Ray was honourably released in 1956 and received the Canadian SpecialService Medal with NATO Bar in 2000. He was discharged in Vancouver on March4, 1956. Ray is an executive member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #24 in Cranbrook.Legare, GuyGuy was born on June 13, 1957 in Calgary. He enlisted in the BritishColumbia Dragoons on October 16, 1974 and took gunnery training inGermany in 1976 before being posted to the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (RoyalCanadians) in Calgary in 1977 to take a Combat Codes course. He waspromoted to Master Corporal in 1978 and became an instructor (RECCE) inArmoured Gunnery. From 1979 until 1986, he served with the BritishColumbia Dragoons as an instructor on contract from the Regular Force andthen became a gunnery instructor for both the Regular and the Reserveforces. Guy took a course to become an advanced gunnery supervisor buthis hearing had deteriorated so he set up ranges in Canada and the USA. Hewas released in 2009. Guy is a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #167 in Lumbyand is a member of the Supplementary Ready Reserve.www.legionbcyukon.ca167
