British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Pollock, RossRoss was born in Vancouver in 1952. He enlisted in the Canadian ForcesSignals on November 4, 1970 and did basic training in Cornwallis. Duringhis service career, Ross was posted to Calgary, Shiloh, Chilliwack,Kingston, Aldergrove, and Esquimalt in Canada and overseas to Germany,Cyprus, the Golan Heights, Haiti, and Bosnia. He was discharged inKingston in 2005 and has been a member of Seaview Centennial <strong>Legion</strong>Branch #257 for twenty-nine years.Poole, GeorgeGeorge was born in London, ON and moved to Vancouver, <strong>BC</strong> in 1953 with hisparents. He joined the Royal Canadian Electrical Engineers in 1958 at the age of 16,continuing his father’s tradition who had served in 156 Service Corps during the war.George served in Egypt from 1960 to 1961. As a radio technician, he was responsiblefor the repair and maintenance of all electrical and electronic equipment for the UNforces. At one point, traveling back from a position, he was shot at but avoided anyinjury. After the unification of the Armed Forces, he was attached to 1 TACU.George was the recipient of the Canadian Forces Decoration and the United NationMedal and stayed in the service until 1979, serving in Vancouver, Montreal andCalgary. After leaving the service, George began working in the communicationsindustries and worked as a technician with CP Rail in Revelstoke, <strong>BC</strong> where heworked for twenty years. George passed away at sixty, one day before his scheduledretirement from CP Rail. He was a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #25 in Vernon, <strong>BC</strong>.Primeau, Richard AllanRichard was born in Westlock, Alberta in 1943. He served as a firefighter inthe Army in Canada. Richard has been a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #293,Alberni Valley for fourteen years.www.legionbcyukon.ca229
