He enlisted in the Navy on July27, 1944 and after training at HMCS Discovery in Vancouver and HMCSCornwallis in Deep Brook, Nova Scotia, he served on HMCS Prince Robertin Honolulu, Midway, Manila, and Hong Kong. He was discharged onFebruary 19, 1946. Tom was a member of Legion Branch #169 in PortAlberni for more than fifty years until he died in 2002.Bennett, Arthur WilliamArthur was born in Kaslo, BC in 1919. He served in the Army during WorldWar Two with Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Royal Canadian OrdnanceCorps in Canada, England, France, and Germany. Arthur has been a memberof Legion Branch #74 in Kaslo for fifty-five years.Bennett, Pamela GladysPamela was born in 1917. She enlisted as a Sergeant in the Women’sDivision of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two. Pameladied on July 13, 1945 and is commemorated with honour on the OttawaMemorial.
