British ColumBia / <strong>Yukon</strong> <strong>Command</strong>Skinner, AlexanderAlexander was born in Ross-shire, Scotland on August 12, 1887. He servedtwo years with the Seaforth Highlanders Volunteers before he immigrated toWinnipeg, Manitoba and started farming. He enlisted in the 179 th InfantryBattalion with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada inWinnipeg, Manitoba on December 2, 1915. Alexander was sent to Englandin October 1916 and his Battalion was absorbed into the 17 th ReserveBattalion. Alexander transferred into the Canadian Army Service Corps forthe remainder of the war. His British War Medal and Allied Victory medalare displayed in Prince Edward <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #91 in Langford, <strong>BC</strong>.Skoreyko, MaxMax was born in Andrew, Alberta in 1922. He enlisted in the Army and tookbasic training in Brantford, Ontario and advanced training in Camp Borden.Max served with the King’s Own Rifles of Canada, The Irish Regiment ofCanada, the Algonquin Regiment, and the Highland Light Infantry ofCanada in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe from 1943until 1946 during World War Two. He is a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #229in Whalley, <strong>BC</strong>.Small, Gerald L.Gerald was born in August 1917 in Newcastle Bridge, New Brunswick. Hejoined the Royal Canadian Air Force in May 1957 and served in Cold Lake,Alberta from January 1958 to October 1962, with 3 Wing in Zweibrücken,Germany from October 1962 to October 1966, in Cold Lake from October1966 to May 1976, in Greenwood, Nova Scotia from May 1976 to August1979, and in Cold Lake again from August 1979 to November 1985. Geraldwas released from the Air Force in February 1986. He lives in Westbank, <strong>BC</strong>where he has been a member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #288 for thirty-six years.www.legionbcyukon.ca253
