Die Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA) ist die
zentrale Dienstleisterin für Immobilien des Bundes. Sie
gehört zum Geschäftsbereich des Bundesfinanzminis -
teriums und handelt nach den modernen Standards der
Immobilienwirtschaft. Zu den Aufgabenschwerpunkten
der BImA gehören das einheitliche Immobilienmanagement
des Bundes, Immobilienverwaltung und -verkauf
sowie der Bundesforst. Sitz der Zentrale ist Bonn.
Insgesamt betreut die BImA rund 21 000 Liegenschaften.
Mehr als 37 000 Wohnungen und etwa 480 000 Hektar
Grundstücksfläche befinden sich in ihrem Eigentum.
Davon entfallen rund 436 000 Hektar auf Forstflächen.
Zusammen mit ehemals militärisch genutzten Flächen
sowie Wohn-, Industrie- und Gewerbeimmobilien bildet
diese Flächenkulisse eines der größten Portfolios Deutschlands.
Konversionsimmobilien der Bundeswehr und der
ausländischen Streitkräfte führt die BImA zivilen Folge -
nutzungen zu. Hierfür erarbeitet die BImA gemeinsam mit
Kommunen unter anderem neue Erschließungskonzepte
und Nutzungsmodelle.

The Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA) is the key pro -
vider of real estate services to Germany’s federal government.
It belongs to the purview of the Federal Ministry
of Finance and acts in accordance with modern real estate
management stan dards. Standardized management of
the federal government’s real estate, real estate administration
and sale and the Federal Forest Service are among
the BImA’s main areas of focus. The headquarters are
located in Bonn.
All in all, the BImA is in charge of about 21,000 properties.
It has within its possession more than 37,000 apartments
and 480,000 hectares of land. Of these areas, a surface of
about 436,000 hectares is wooded area. Along with former
military areas, residential, industrial, and commercial real
estate these sites constitute one of the largest portfolios
in Germany. With conversion real estate of the German
armed forces and allied forces, the BImA makes these
areas available for subsequent civic use. For this, among
other things, the BImA elaborates new land developement
and use concepts in cooperation with communities.
