Der technologische, wirtschaftliche und gesellschaftliche
Wandel stellt hohe Anforderungen an die Qualifikation der
Fachkräfte in den Unternehmen. Maßgebliche Grundlage
für diese Qualifikationen sind in Deutschland die duale
Berufsausbildung und die betriebliche Weiterbildung. Die
Ausbildung im dualen System ist zugleich Basis für lebensbegleitendes
Lernen. Berufliche Aus- und Weiterbildung
sind Investitionen in die Zukunft.
Das Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung (BIBB) ist das anerkannte
Kompetenzzentrum zur Erforschung und Weiterentwicklung
der beruflichen Aus- und Weiterbildung in
Deutschland und wurde 1970 als Einrichtung des Bundes
auf der Basis des Berufs bil dungs gesetzes (BBiG) gegründet.
Seit 1999 ist das BIBB in Bonn ansässig.
Mit seinen Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten sowie
Beratungsaktivitäten trägt das BIBB dazu bei, durch
zukunftsfähige Qualifikationen die wirtschaftliche und
berufliche Zukunft der Menschen zu sichern und den
Standort Deutschland wettbewerbsfähig zu halten.

The transition found in the field of technological, eco -
nomic and social development places high demands
on the qualifications of skilled workers in companies. In
Germany, dual vocational and in-service training provides
a substantial basis for these qualifications. At the same
time, dual vocational training also represents the foun -
dation for life-long learning. Vocational apprenticeship and
in-service training are investments in the future.
The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training
(BIBB) is the renowned competence centre for research
and further development of vocational apprenticeship
and in-service training in Germany. It was founded 1970,
on the basis of the Vocational Training Act (BBiG), as an
institution of the federal government. Since 1999, BIBB
has had its registered office in Bonn.
With its research and development work, in addition to
its consultancy activities, BIBB contributes to ensuring
people’s economic and professional future. This is
achiev ed by means of sustainable future qualifications,
in addition to ensuring that the location of Germany
remains competitive.
