of <strong>Bonn</strong>, of which about 4,500 are from abroad.<br />

Practically-oriented, international and well connected<br />
H-BRS is the largest higher education institution among the<br />
new additions, and it has grown rapidly since its founding<br />
in 1995. At this location, 155 professors conduct research<br />
and teaching, about 8,000 students are registered – and<br />
1,200 of these come from abroad to study here. Here,<br />
students learn to found companies and, in the process,<br />
receive support in the form of a variety of information and<br />
infrastructure offers. As one of only a few higher education<br />
institutions in Germany, H-BRS has a large number of<br />
endowment professorships, which constitute the foundation<br />
for long-lasting networking activities with institutions<br />
and companies. The last of currently twelve endowment<br />
professorships was established in 2015 in cooperation with<br />
the Max Planck Society. The title: “Digital Signal Processing<br />
and Radio Astronomical Instrumentation”. A professor of the<br />
higher education institution is now doing research on a<br />
radio telescope in Effelsberg. H-BRS is presently operating<br />
nine new research institutes related to topics of applicationoriented<br />
research. In particular, the focal points are in the<br />
areas of visual computing and security-related research.<br />
The private International University Bad Honnef <strong>Bonn</strong> (IUBH)<br />
forges careers for the service industry. It teaches aviation,<br />
tourism, hotel and event management as well as inter -<br />
national business management. The practice-oriented<br />
course of studies, which his offered in English, optimally<br />
prepares the approximately 1,500 students for an inter -<br />
national career.<br />
The graduates from <strong>Bonn</strong>’s higher education institutions are<br />
well-trained, practically-oriented and know how to act with<br />
