PROTECTION THICKNESS<br />

Thickness recommendations given in "Fire<br />

Protection of Structural <strong>Steel</strong> in Building" have<br />

normally been derived from fire tests on orthodox<br />

H or I rolled sections. For other sections the<br />

recommended thickness for a given section<br />

factor and fire rating should be modified as<br />

follows:<br />
