approach to problems at the intersection of measured time in<br />

archaeology, and the practice and reckoning of time, in mostly non-<br />

(3) Critical examination of the development of thought in<br />

archaeology extending beyond a materialist interpretation of culture.<br />

Explores causality and the role of mind and culture as mediators<br />

between the environment and political, economic, and social<br />

structures.<br />

ANG 6115: Problems in Caribbean Prehistory (3) Theories and<br />

methods for study of prehistoric human societies. Case studies<br />

drawn primarily from Caribbean islands.<br />
