the schools, theories, and philosophies of the discipline of history.<br />

HIS 6416: Problems in Comparative Legal History (3) Seminar<br />

begins with the question of what comparative legal history is and<br />

considers a series of case studies to explore approaches to<br />

comparative legal history.<br />

HIS 6445: Postcolonial Theories (3) Readings in history and<br />

theory of aftermaths of European imperialism. Emphasizes the<br />

passage from colonial to postcolonial regimes. Critiques of<br />

colonialism and nationalist decolonization emerging in nineteenthand<br />

twentieth-century Americas, Asia, Africa, and Europe.<br />
