Admission to the Department is through appropriate application to<br />

the Department's admission committee. A bachelor's degree is<br />

generally adequate preparation for graduate admission. It should<br />

include undergraduate courses in both experimental psychology and<br />

statistics, along with at least three courses from the following<br />

psychology areas: developmental, learning, perception, personality,<br />

physiological, and social.<br />

CLP 5316: Health Psychology (3) Prereq: PSY 2013. Examines<br />

relationships among health and behavior in the assessment,<br />

treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of health problems. Review<br />

of clinical health psychology with implications for other disciplines.<br />

CLP 5426: Introduction to Neuropsychology (3) Prereq: PSY<br />

2013, CLP 3144. Overview of clinical and experimental data on<br />

brain-cognition relationships in humans.<br />

CLP 6304: Psychological Foundations of Clinical Psychology I<br />

(2-3; max: 3) History and systems of psychology, social<br />

psychology, developmental psychology, and cognitive psychology<br />

foundations of clinical psychology.<br />

CLP 6307: Human Higher Cortical Functioning (3) Models that<br />

explain linkages between brain and behavior. Focus on both<br />

functions and dysfunctions.<br />

CLP 6308: Psychological Foundations of Clinical Psychology II<br />

(2-3; max: 3) Prereq: CLP 6304. Continuation of CLP 6304.<br />

CLP 6309: Psychological Foundations of Clinical Psychology<br />

III (2-3; max: 3) Prereq: CLP 6308. Continuation of CLP 6308.<br />

CLP 6344C: Lifespan Foundations of Behavioral Health and<br />

Illness I (4) Prereq: admission to CLP. Theoretical and research<br />

foundations of behavioral health and illness using lifespan<br />

perspective. Integration of topics of personality, stress and coping,<br />

psychopathology, and fundamentals of health psychology.<br />

CLP 6345: Lifespan Foundations of Behavioral Health and<br />

Illness II (4) Prereq: CLP 6344. Continuation of CLP 6344.<br />

CLP 6375: Introduction to Clinical Psychology(1-3; max: 3)<br />

Prereq: admission to CLP. Seminar on issues and concepts<br />

concurrent with field observation and participation.<br />

CLP 6407: Psychological Treatment I (3) Prereq: admission to<br />

CLP or consent of instructor. Current dynamic and personality<br />

theories, practices, and related research in psychotherapy.<br />

CLP 6417: Psychological Treatment II (3) Prereq: admission to<br />

CLP or consent of instructor. Current behavioral theories, practices,<br />

and related research.<br />

CLP 6425: Seminar in Clinical Neuropsychology (1; max: 6)<br />

Prereq: graduate students only and permission of director. Basic<br />

issues and recent advances. Presentation of research topics, clinical<br />

cases, and discussion of professional issues.<br />

CLP 6430: Clinical Psychological Assessment (4) Prereq:<br />

admission to the Clinical Psychology doctoral program. Introduction<br />

to concepts, theory, and practices in clinical psychological<br />

assessment across the lifespan.<br />

CLP 6434C: Clinical Psychology Assessment I (4) Prereq: CLP
