caribbean. Slave emancipation and decolonization; race relations
and black consciousness; labor, culture, and economic change. Not

LAH 5476: Caribbean History to 1800: Slavery, Colonization,
and International Conflict (3) Prereq: consent of instructor.
Social, economic, and political history of the West Indies and the
Circumcaribbean region to around 1800. Emphasizes slave societies.

Anthropological and political history of the postcolonial Andean
