Risk Management in the context of hospitality, including principles,<br />

LEI 7163: Foundations of Leisure Behavior (3) Advanced<br />

examination of sociological, socio-psychological, and philosophical<br />

literature in leisure studies. Topics include leisure definitions debate;<br />

influence of gender, race, class, and age on leisure; time crunch<br />

and commodification of leisure; and role of leisure in 21st century<br />

society.<br />

LEI 7708: Conceptual Issues in Therapeutic Recreation (3)<br />

Prereq: graduate standing. Theoretical foundations and research<br />

efficacy of therapeutic recreation.<br />

LEI 7901: Recreation, Parks, and Tourism in Higher Education<br />

(3) Prereq: required for all doctoral students. Examines current<br />

trends and issues impacting tourism, recreation, and sport<br />

management in higher education. Topics include curriculum<br />

development, accreditation, distance learning, university<br />

organization and governance, university economics, faculty<br />

responsibilities, and life in the academy.<br />
