The Management Department offers graduate work leading to a<br />

Ph.D. degree with a major in business administration and a<br />

concentration in management. In addition, the department offers<br />

courses in a Master of Science program with a major in<br />

management and A Master of Art program with a major in<br />

International Business (detailed under Business Administration--<br />

General).<br />

Doctor of Philosophy––The Ph.D. program in business<br />

administration in the Department of Management prepares students<br />

for careers as faculty members of universities that emphasize<br />

teaching and research. The program is designed so that the student<br />

will (1) develop strong competence in the base discipline crucial to<br />

the study of organizations and organization processes and (2) follow<br />

a field of specialization in organizational behavior, organizational<br />

theory, human resource management, and strategic studies.<br />

Admission requirements for the Ph.D. include (a) a minimum grade<br />

point average of 3.0, (b) an acceptable score on the GRE, and (c)<br />

for nonnative speakers of English, a satisfactory score on one of the<br />

following: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language:<br />

computer=213, paper=550, web=80), IELTS (International English<br />

Language Testing System: 6), MELAB (Michigan English Language<br />

Assessment Battery: 77), or successful completion of the <strong>UF</strong> English
