<strong>School</strong> Psychology: (M.Ed.,Ed.S., Ph.D.)<br />

The <strong>School</strong> Psychology Program (SPP) prepares school psychology<br />

practitioners and scholars whose activities promote the psychological<br />

and educational development and well-being of children and youth.<br />

The program is grounded in a scientist-practitioner model as<br />

reflected in its commitment to a synthesis between science and<br />

practice throughout all academic and professional preparation<br />

opportunities. Specialist training consists of 80 graduate credit<br />

hours, including a year-long internship, and leads to the Ed.S.<br />

degree. Doctoral training consists of 136 graduate credit hours,<br />

including a year-long internship, early research experience, and<br />

dissertation, and leads to the Ph.D. degree.<br />

SPS 6052: Issues and Problems in <strong>School</strong> Psychology (3)<br />

Coreq: SPS 6941. History and foundations of school psychology;<br />

legal and ethical. Overview of the role and functions of the school<br />

psychologist.<br />

6941. Techniques for assessing intelligence, adaptive behavior, and<br />
