The Marketing Department offers graduate work leading to the<br />

Ph.D. degree in business administration, the M.S. degree in business<br />

administration with a concentration in either retailing or research,<br />

and a concentration in the Master of Business Administration<br />

(M.B.A.) program. Requirements for the M.B.A., M.S., and Ph.D.<br />

degrees are described in the General Information section of this<br />

catalog.<br />

Doctor of Philosophy: The Ph.D. program admission standards are<br />

the following: (a) acceptable scores on the <strong>Graduate</strong> Record<br />

Examination (typically 1250 or higher) or a score of 600 on the<br />

<strong>Graduate</strong> Management Admission Test; (b) for nonnative speakers<br />

of English, a satisfactory score on one of the following: TOEFL (Test<br />

of English as a Foreign Language: computer=213, paper=550,<br />

web=80), IELTS (International English Language Testing System:<br />

6), MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery: 77), or<br />

successful completion of the <strong>UF</strong> English Language Institute program,<br />

and (c) a record of previous scholastic excellence in either business<br />

or a closely related social science discipline (e.g., economics,<br />

psychology, sociology, statistics). Neither industry experience nor an<br />

M.B.A. degree is required.<br />
