Thermodynamics of materials systems, surfaces in solids,<br />

EMA 6319: Applied Colloid and Interfacial Chemistry for<br />

Engineers (3) Prereq: EMA 6316 or equivalent. Principles used to<br />

disperse powders in liquids with practical examples relating to<br />

ceramic and metal particle processing properties.<br />

EMA 6412: Synthesis and Characterization of Electronic<br />

Materials (3) Prereq: undergraduate-level thermodynamics,<br />

kinetics, and electrical properties of materials or equivalent.<br />

Principles of materials growth and characterization in electronic and<br />

photonic industries. Bulk and epitaxial growth technologies,<br />
