Doctor of Philosophy: The College offers an interdisciplinary<br />

program leading to the Doctor of Philosophy degree in design,<br />

construction, and planning. Areas of specialization within this<br />

program include architecture, building construction, interior design,<br />

landscape architecture, and urban and regional planning. For<br />

Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning: The Department<br />

of Urban and Regional Planning offers graduate work leading to the<br />

degree of Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning<br />

(M.A.U.R.P.). Students are encouraged to enter the program in the<br />

fall semester. The program is usually completed in two academic<br />

years. The student entering with an undergraduate degree and no<br />

graduate study must complete 52 hours of credit for the M.A.U.R.P.<br />

degree. Students who have a master's degree in a related field may<br />

transfer up to 18 graduate semester hours toward the 52 hour<br />

requirement. Such a transfer of credit requires the approval of the<br />

Department. The Department encourages students with any<br />

undergraduate degree who are interested in the field of planning to<br />

apply for admission.
