The <strong>School</strong> of Special Education, <strong>School</strong> Psychology, and Early<br />

Childhood Studies offers online and face-to-face programs leading<br />

to the Master of Education (M.Ed., non-thesis), Master of Arts in<br />

Education (M.A.E., thesis), Specialist in Education (Ed.S.), Doctor of<br />

Education (Ed.D.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees.<br />

Complete descriptions of the requirements for these degrees are<br />

provided in the General Information section of this catalog.<br />

The <strong>School</strong> offers graduate study and research experience in 3<br />

areas of specialization: Special Education; <strong>School</strong> Psychology; and<br />

Early Childhood Studies. Programs are accredited by the Florida<br />

Department of Education and approved by the National Council for<br />

Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) through the Council for<br />

Exceptional Children (CEC) and the National Association of <strong>School</strong><br />

Psychologists (NASP). The Ph.D. program in <strong>School</strong> Psychology is<br />

accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).<br />

EEC 6205: Early Childhood Curriculum (3) Students develop<br />

and/or implement instructional strategies consistent with their<br />

personal philosophies of early childhood education.<br />

EEC 6304: Creativity in the Early Childhood Curriculum (3)<br />

Techniques for teaching all areas of the early childhood curriculum<br />

to support the development of children's creativity with an emphasis<br />

on art and music.<br />

EEC 6525: Issues in Child Care Administration (3) Child care
