The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics offers the Doctor<br />

of Philosophy degree in epidemiology<br />

Public Health degree, with concentrations in epidemiology and in<br />

biostatistics, which is described in detail in the Public Health secThe<br />

the Department are designed to prepare students for research and<br />

faculty positions; careers in health agencies and health-related<br />

institutions; and for consultation, especially in the biomedical fields.<br />

Doctoral training programs are described under each division below.<br />

The Department functions as a single administrative unit combining<br />

the two distinct disciplines. Although each discipline and each<br />

graduate program has a set of required courses, there is ample<br />

flexibility in the programs to allow each student to develop
