The <strong>School</strong> offers programs leading to the Master of Forest<br />

Resources and Conservation (professional, nonthesis), Master of<br />

Science (with thesis), and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in forest<br />

resources and conservation. Requirements for these degrees<br />

are given in the General Information section of this catalog.<br />

Specializations include agroforestry, biometrics, biotechnology,<br />

ecology, economic sustainability, ecotourism, environmental<br />

education, fire science, forest economics, forest genetics, forest<br />

nutrition, geographic information systems, geomatics, hydrology,<br />

international forestry, management operations, pathology,<br />

physiology, policy, reforestation, remote sensing, resource<br />

management, silviculture, soils, tropical forestry, and urban forestry.<br />

<strong>Graduate</strong> students should have appropriate undergraduate training<br />

in biological, social, and physical sciences. Students with inadequate<br />

backgrounds may still be admitted but will be required to take<br />

appropriate undergraduate courses to support their fields of study.<br />

All graduate students are required to develop teaching skills by<br />

assisting with one course during their programs.<br />

Joint program: Students may simultaneously earn a juris doctorate<br />

from the College of Law and a graduate degree (M.F.R.C., M.S., or
