Doctor of Philosophy: The college offers an interdisciplinary<br />

doctoral program in design, construction, and planning. Areas of<br />

specialization in the program include architecture, building<br />

construction, interior design, landscape architecture, and urban and<br />

regional planning. Within the area of building construction,<br />

specialization options include sustainable construction, information<br />

systems, construction safety, affordable housing, productivity, and<br />

human resource management. These specializations prepare<br />

students to assume college-level faculty positions and industry<br />

research positions in construction management and the building<br />

The M.E. Rinker Sr. <strong>School</strong> offers courses leading to the degrees of<br />

Master of Science in Building Construction (thesis), Master of<br />

Building Construction (nonthesis), and Master of International<br />

Construction Management (nonthesis distance education program<br />

for experienced professionals). An individual plan of study is<br />

prepared for each student to insure that the student's goals are<br />

achieved within the broad policy guidelines of the Rinker <strong>School</strong>.
