My signature below is confirmation that I have agreed to take part <strong>in</strong> a series <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>terviews<br />

with Col<strong>in</strong> Cameron (School <strong>of</strong> Media, Communication and Sociology, <strong>Queen</strong> <strong>Margaret</strong><br />

University, Ed<strong>in</strong>burgh) as part <strong>of</strong> his research for his PhD <strong>thesis</strong> „Does anybody like be<strong>in</strong>g<br />

disabled? An exploration <strong>of</strong> impairment, self and identity <strong>in</strong> a disabl<strong>in</strong>g society‟.<br />

The series <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>terviews will be organised as follows:<br />

Interview 1 This <strong>in</strong>terview will be about establish<strong>in</strong>g my own relationship with disability<br />

as an idea or as an identity. With<strong>in</strong> this <strong>in</strong>terview I will be asked to talk<br />

about my own experiences and thoughts on the subject <strong>of</strong> disability.<br />

Interview 2 This <strong>in</strong>terview will be about my perceptions <strong>of</strong> media representations <strong>of</strong><br />

disability and disabled people and about how I view these as resources for<br />

disabled people to draw on <strong>in</strong> address<strong>in</strong>g questions <strong>of</strong> identity<br />

Interview 3: This will take place as I carry out an everyday activity identified and agreed<br />

between Col<strong>in</strong> Cameron and myself. In addition to short <strong>in</strong>terviews before<br />

and after this activity, I give consent to Col<strong>in</strong> Cameron‟s mak<strong>in</strong>g notes and<br />

observations as I carry out this activity <strong>in</strong> order to develop these <strong>in</strong>to a<br />

qualitative description.
