100 CAPITOLO 5. TEOREMA DI CLASSIFICAZIONE Prima di procedere con la dimostrazione è importante soffermarci su alcune osservazioni. Le restrizioni su p nei casi Bp. Cp, Dp sono poste per evitare doppioni. Se prendiamo Bp, Cp, Dp con p = 1 ricadiamo nel caso A1 (per uno solo vertice si ha una sola possibilità) ; se consideriamo Cp nel caso in cui p sia uguale a 2 ricadiamo nella situazione rappresentata da B2 poichè il fatto che la freccia sia invertita non cambia la sostanza delle cose; i casi D2 e D3 concidono, rispettivamente, con i casi A2 e A3. A parte i casi Bp e Cp, i digrammi di Dynkin elencati coincidono coi corrispondenti grafici di Coxeter. I casi Bp e Cp hanno gli stessi grafici di Coxeter ma differiscono per il numero di radici lunghe e radici corte : per Bp le radici sono tutte lunghe tranne una, per Cp è il contrario.
